Children's Church
Join us the first, second, and third Sunday of the month at 10:30 am in the Chapel during worship service.
We provide a Children’s ministry at Pleasant Green using the 'Bible Basics' curriculum which starts from the beginning of the Bible to teach children about the amazing love of God. Our time is spent singing, dancing, acting out Bible stories, and applying them through games and crafts.
At PGUMC, we are committed to growing our children's faith by sharing our time and talents. To sign up as a Children's Church leader or helper, please click the link below. Questions? Email [email protected].

Seeds of Faith Workshop
Saturday, June 29th from 9am - 12pm
Pleasant Green UMC Fellowship Hall
Seeds of Faith is hosting a free workshop for parents and caregivers on Saturday, June 29 from 9:00-12:00 at Pleasant Green UMC entitled Parenting in the Digital Age: Using Media Literacy to Raise Media-Savvy Kids and Teens. Parents should expect to gain practical media and media literacy skills in order to have high-quality conversations with children and teens about a range of topics such as gender stereotypes, body-image, and healthy and unhealthy relationships. Our speaker is Christina Dodson, PhD. Christina is a Research Scientist with Innovative Research and Training in Durham whose research focuses on the influence of media on health-related attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors and the role of critical media analysis in the processing of media messages. She is also the mother of three kids.
Seeds of Faith is a ministry of Camp Chestnut Ridge and Orange Cooperative Parish that seeks to support parents and caregivers in passing on their faith and values to their kids. We hope that as a result of this program, families will feel less alone in their faith and parenting journeys as they build deeper connections with their kids, other families, and with God. We are grateful to Lilly Foundation Inc for so generously funding us through its Christian Parenting and Caregiving Initiative. Learn more here.
Acolyte
At PGUMC, Children may serve as acolytes beginning in the second grade. Acolytes carry the light into the worship service as a symbol of Jesus coming into the presence of the worshipping community. At the end of service, the light is carried out into the world as a sign that Jesus Christ is for all people everywhere, and that Christ goes with his people into the world.

Kids Connect
Kids Connect is an opportunity for children to gather together and worship, have fun, and serve their community. We typically meet quarterly on a Sunday afternoon. We're always looking for new opportunities to serve our community. If you have a service project idea, please email [email protected].
